Alchi School Project
Incidental hitchhiking on a ’school bus’ near the remote village of Alchi led to exploring this charming primary school. It’s located in the desert not far from the Indus river, teaching few dozens young children subjects like Math, Science and English.
Once the school bus arrives at the school, all kids form a “friendship circle”
Each kid then hugs every other kid, greeting each other for a friendly day
The school day begins following individual prayers
Welcome to the first grade classroom!
Learning the local alphabet
What a sweet method for memorizing the numbers!
Dreadful – the teacher is checking the homework
Senior class English lesson: reading Aesop’s fable of “The Hare and the Tortoise”
“Once upon a time a tortoise and a hare had an argument about who was faster…”
Top pupils get to read the fable aloud in front of the class
Kids will be kids…

Namaskar and Tashi Delek Thinlay!
Visiting the school last year was a very special experience for us. We could feel how the staff loving kindness and pure education embrace these children. Just the right ingredients for nurturing a better future.
All the best, Amit.
